Are you =missing= a COM Port I/O Address? Hmmmm....? Do your COM Ports
go "1,2,4" and skip COM3?  Or... even worse "1,4" and skip COM2 and
COM3??? Then when you =try= to install a modem, your software also skips
an Address and doesn't work? Believe or no, there =is= an easy and
pretty safe fix. Download this stuff, run the QuickBASIC executable
program, then the batch files. This program will fill in those COM Port
